A virtual course for those seeking to enhance their business knowledge with Trust specific expertise.

The next Trustee Masterclass, facilitated by the EOA, is currently open for registrations..


This virtual training is for individuals who have senior level company experience and are appointed to, considering being appointed to, or interested in knowing more about, the workings of the trust boards of employee owned companies.


Date: 19 - 21 May 2026

Time: 9am to 1pm daily

This Trustee Masterclass is led, curated and co-hosted by:


Campbell McDonald, an EO expert with 18 years working in and with EO businesses, Chief Executive of the EO think tank Ownership at Work and lead on their EO Knowledge Programme, MD at The Eternal Business Consultancy and independent trustee

 and

Sue Lawrence, an experienced independent trustee, Founder of Independent Directors and Trustees, Chartered Director and author of books on governance published by The Chartered Governance Institute, and a former business leader of professional services businesses, including trust companies.


Attendees will learn about the breadth of the role of the trust, including its role as majority company shareholder, where it can add most benefit, how it slots into the wider structure of the business, and what it is not responsible for.



Agenda:

The 3 mornings are split across 4 core modules covering fundamental knowledge and skills, and a fifth dimension of application:

  1. EO Basics
  2. Role of Trustees vs Role of the Board
  3. Business Health and the Role of the Trust
  4. EO Culture and Best Practice
  5. Dynamic Application
Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to share their own insights whilst navigating the content, whilst the hosts provide real life examples of the various aspects in practice.


Places are limited to ensure that attendees learning goals, shared prior to attendance, can be incorporated into the course throughout the 3 mornings.
